#ashtanga #yoga #tarot • “Pray to God but row for the shore”

  • Just a basic primary+ without all the hand standing. I’d intended to add a bunch of back bending intervals but didn’t. Started too late. I’d gotten sucked into the art vortex.

Card 1, within: 4 of Cups.

Introduction: The 4 of Cups is a card about wishful thinking. It warns us to remember to pay attention to what “is” now, and the many blessings we each currently experience, and not to worry too much about “what could be.” It is all too easy to overlook what we already have in the pursuit of what we don’t have.

General: Be sure that you are “counting your blessings.” Don’t spend too much time in self-pity or wishing your life away.* A lot of life has to do with where we put our focus. Put your focus on the things and people in your life that you have to be thankful for. Consider a gratitude journal.

* Noted. I’m not going to start a separate journal but I will keep this in my mind today. I also leave the 3 cards of my reading out, where I can see them, for the entire day. They go back when I shuffle the desk in the morning.

And I think I’ll sit right after this. I didn’t meditate yesterday.

Keywords: Slowly work on a problem, proceed, work, move forward, create what you want one slow layer at a time, like a pearl, or water erosion which builds great chasms and river valleys. Build or wear away with patience. Message from the subconscious in the form of dreams, emotions, intuitions or perceptions.

Card 2, without: Queen of Disks, seen on May 16 & May 19th in the 3rd placement. I guess the cards are trying to tell me not to worry?

Creates a safe physical environment. Keywords: Gardening, culturing, organizing, nurturing. A safe and secure environment where people and things can grow strong and unconquerable. Safety, stability, prosperity. Physical and financial security.

Card 3, advice: 7 of Disks.

Introduction: The 7 of Pentacles is very often a card about returns on investments. This can be literal such as a bank account returning money to you, or figuratively, such as the investments of time, effort, and energy that you have put into a relationship. You will be reaping what you have sown. This is generally positive.

General: In general, you should be feeling more secure than you have in a while. Things will be moving along well, and you’ll be feeling hopeful about the future – with good cause. You may have to decide whether to put your energy into the things, people, and situations that you already are involved with, or whether to spend your energy trying to bring more into your life. Choose wisely.

Create your own unique life to your highest potential based on your own unique skills and gifts.
