I’m getting sick of the Knight of Wands showing up, telling me it’d be a good idea to travel. He was card 1 yesterday. This reading seems to have strong themes of “letting go”, like yesterday, along with the childlike theme of the first card. My legs are stiff from yesterday’s unpleasant but necessary (for a 4-sessions in the week, minimum schedule) and it’s Sunday, the start of a new week. This all points to “probably won’t exercise today”. Maybe I’ll do some pretend shopping on Beach Body, and I will spend all morning thinking about lunch, no doubt.
Card 1, within: Page of Cups
Introduction: When the Page of Cups appears, it’s a signal to allow the childlike side of yourself to come forward. Like most of the Cups suit, the Page is an uplifting and encouraging sign to receive in a tarot reading. It also can indicate that someone – likely someone who is younger than you, is coming your way before long with a message for you.
General: In general, this card shows a need to play, to dream, to have a little fun. When this card appears, it sometimes means that you’ve been taking yourself far too seriously. Margot Fonteyn said “The one important thing I have learned over the years is the difference between taking one’s work seriously and taking one’s self seriously. The first is imperative and the second is disastrous.” Know the difference.
Work: Even if things have been lousy in your job for the last ten years, the appearance of this card shows that there is cause for hope and positive anticipation. No matter who you are, you have professional options. Life can change on a dime, and sometimes those changes are positive. If you’re unhappy in your current work, know that you hold the key to changing it.
Card 1, without: Knight of Wands
Introduction: When the Knight of Wands appears, this is a great time for travel if you can manage to get away. You should be feeling charged up, full of energy, and ready to get things done. Your self-confidence is likely to be increasing and this should help you toward your goals.
General: Knights are often message bearers, and in the Wands suit, the messages are likely to be positive and related to work or career. Your projects are likely to be/have been more successful than you would have expected or predicted. You have a lot of reasons to feel pride. Savor it.
Keywords: The quest and search for power and energy, the holy flame, though not necessarily with the maturity to use it responsibly. The goal is to transform the holy flame into something constructive rather than destructive. Dark, mysterious, solitary, dramatic, shamanistic, passionate and intense. Libido. Yes…
Card 3, advice: XII The Hanged Man
Introduction: The Hanged Man generally shows that you are at a crossroads – one with only two options i.e. in or out, up or down, yes or no. You may find yourself very much wanting to do “something” but having no idea what it is or how to do it. If that happens, that’s a clear sign that you should stop, relax, and look at ways that you might need to let go of attempts to control life/situations/people/things.
General: It’s possible that there is an outdated attitude or wish that you need to let go of. Any sacrifice that you make will open up your life to something even more positive than what you “let go of.” All in all this should be a thoughtful, reflective time, particularly if you are willing to look at if or how you might best serve your own interests by being willing to change.
Work: Nothing much may seem to be happening, and you may well be sick of it. This is a great time to figure out if there is anything that you personally can do about it, if this is the case, and if there is not an action that you can take, then try not to take the slowness of the wheels of change personally. Things will change. It just may not happen on your timetable. Relax, or else look for different work.
Spirituality: It’s crucial now to let go of any negative, self-limiting beliefs. Remember the idea of the “self-fulfilling prophesy” and be very careful about what you allow yourself to say or think about our life. Make sure the “prophecies” you are making about your life bear some resemblance to the life you really wish to see.
Keywords: Hang in the balance, suspension, suspended action, in limbo. A time of rest and deep contemplation. Submission, submission to your destiny. Sacrifice, die to the self, self annihilation.
