[EDIT UPDATE] Today I’m just going to go with the SADs

This pre-solstice span of dim lighting and hill isolation is BRUTAL for me, on The Hill. I wasn’t here last December. I still had that humongous picture window to stare out of.

christmas-2015

I two big “blows” that month though, not getting an offer for a branding gig at Nike and also not being entry-level enough (while having the nerve to submit “great” test projects) for Creative Coop. That’s when I knew I wasn’t going to be renting another apartment here in the “Economy of a Turnip” Portland. My salvation will HAVE to be remote freelance and fine art. It has to be. There is no other way.

I’m still working at being a real artist, not as much as I should, but I’m plugging away, albeit sporadically, in between incapacitating bouts of sadness and anxiety. I am reunited with my easel!* I hate to admit it, but I realized doing the math I only had it for a year or two before NYC circumstances separated us. It’s a miracle I have it again, even if we still need to get wheels and there’s a hell of a lot I need to get in order to really use it. That thing could handle one of those enormous canvases, say if I was working 5×9-feet or more. But the larger the materials the more expensive. I’m still using some 300lb arches watercolor paper I got either in college or by my mid 20s at the latest. I think it was $10 a sheet back then. And oils are super expensive… Bla, bla, bla.

Easel.jpg

*I need to give credit not just to Cathy, who had to offer to intervene twice before I realized she was serious, but also to Charlie who suggested I ask for it. I’d told him about my old easel, I guess in wistful tones. I never thought to ask for it. I knew what that would mean, in terms of my mother and the inevitable freak out. Ooooh that’d be a SHIT-STORM, I said. But I went ahead an initiated anyway. Once he gave me the idea I couldn’t help myself. Save the easel!!!

It’s a monument to a lot of things in my life, youthful optimism and a belief in my own artistic talent, to name just two. I kicked some ass at RISD, even if I didn’t have a sophisticated background.

Henry’s flea induced skin problem isn’t doing ANYthing good for my mood

He was worrying the main area this morning, while I was still lying in bed, so I picked him up to examine it while my coffee was brewing and it’s really raw, red and angry looking. What do I do? Keep him in a cone 24/7? We’ll both be miserable. But when I did that overnight, after discovery, and covered the area with salve it was much less red the next day.

Decided to just spend all day holed up thinking, if I want

10 Card – Outcome

So I’m in the 2016, Pacific Northwest version of the renunciate’s cave. I knew it. I’d never have come if I weren’t tricked*, so the universe made me believe I was coming here to live pretty much the same working, middle aged cat lady single existence (I’d been living before. I’d hoped to improve on the working situation, not to obliterate it!)

*This isn’t intended as blame on any individuals. A similar thing happened when my college BF and I were strongly considering moving to the NYC area and came down for a week in the summer, staying with his established Illustrator friend. We were at Scrap Bar when Axl Rose, at the very height of Guns and Roses fame, came in around 2am and sat at our table. When moving I was totally like, Oh ya, I’m totally making the right decision badgering my boyfriend into this. Rock stars sit with you & you get free beer!

The Hierophant says life is your teacher.  Every experience is a lesson – a learning opportunity for growth and the solid understanding that conflicts are openings for new life to take seed.  When you begin to feel oppressed by the “shoulds” and “oughts” of life – listen to your “inner” teacher.  Once all the facts have been gathered by your conscious mind, they are fed into your subconscious, which sorts, assimilates and sends back a flash of intuition – the correct analysis.  A simple good wish made for another puts divine power into action.  As your prayers rise towards God, they are transformed into benedictions which descend from above.  The search for “truth” is a prayer which is followed by illumination, consolation or grace and it always results in harmonious spiritual respiration.

Use your human situation in order to transcend your unevolved aspects.  Through intuition you become united with the Universe – you learn to hold the two opposing forces of life in balance – having recognized that you can not resolve them.  You “play the game” by understanding the rules and manners of the existing hierarchy and seeking out authorities in your field – making new allies by listening to your conscience.  Share this wisdom with others – you are a teacher.

In the tenth position: Listen to these guides of grace shedding new light in old corners.  You may view this as a new turn on an old truth or as a new pattern of truth speaking an entirely new language.  It will expand your awareness by giving you new friends to play and study with.  Pay more than usual attention to dreams, channeling, meditation, all inner resources, as well as the marvel of serendipity in everyday events.

I’m already playing pretty close attention to my dreams and daily, seated meditation.

Had a frustrated travel dream last night. If I could’ve knocked myself out at 7pm I’d have done so happily, relieved by oblivion. Instead I stayed up all night, obsessing about not having any good snacks and where I’d run away to if I could.

So in dreamland I’d flown to South Beach and met up with my friend Nako. We were supposed to rendezvous with Jane but difficulties ensued…

#meditation and #tarot

Today’s reading was spot on. I sat after. That’s a good Order of Things. Now to get ready for some art!

Amazingly while it was 57 and completely overcast when we got up this morning, it’s now sunny & will eventually get to the mid 80s in the late afternoon and early evening. That’s one big difference between the coasts! On the east coast, the hottest part of the day is always mid afternoon and that’s it. Not so, in summertime Portland. It’s best for me to get my creative work done, in my perch office upstairs, before it gets too hot. I get the sun at that time of day.

Page of Cups, Knight of Disks, Knight of Wands #tarot

Simple 3-card spread for a “reading of the day”. I have to do some boring office work that I’m famous for putting off and off and off. I cannot just move it to another position in iCal! But I’m not due to start in the office until 9am :).

My interview went well yesterday. Since I’m the last person she met with I should hear from her soon. I’m grateful there are some possibilities brewing. I’m not sure what the outcome will be but there is movement.

Meditation is hard but SO good for the mindbody.

I haven’t been making “daily” but I managed a 22min sit right after the cards. And now it’s really time to get to work!

FullSizeRender.jpg

Card 1, self: Page of Cups

Last seen in this same position on June 11th, 4th & on May 29th.

Initiators of heart.

Questions to Answer:

  1. Who depends on you emotionally?
  2. What does your intuition say to do?
  3. How can you serve others?
  4. Who offers unqualified, non-judgmental love?

Introduction: When the Page of Cups appears, it’s a signal to allow the childlike side of yourself to come forward. Like most of the Cups suit, the Page is an uplifting and encouraging sign to receive in a tarot reading. It also can indicate that someone – likely someone who is younger than you, is coming your way before long with a message for you.

General: In general, this card shows a need to play, to dream, to have a little fun. When this card appears, it sometimes means that you’ve been taking yourself far too seriously. Margot Fonteyn said “The one important thing I have learned over the years is the difference between taking one’s work seriously and taking one’s self seriously. The first is imperative and the second is disastrous.” Know the difference.

Work: Even if things have been lousy in your job for the last ten years, the appearance of this card shows that there is cause for hope and positive anticipation. No matter who you are, you have professional options. Life can change on a dime, and sometimes those changes are positive. If you’re unhappy in your current work, know that you hold the key to changing it.

This is the card of getting to know the familiarity of love all over again.

Card 2, environment: Knight of Disks

Last seen on June 22nd, 1st & May 27 in the 1st position.

On a quest for what is physical.

Do not dwell on the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. – Buddha

Keywords: Don’t look outside for the answer to the problem, look inside to find peace. You already have everything you are looking for. Look in your own home. Do not have doubt in yourself, you are made for this and already have all the tools.

Introduction: The Knight of Pentacles points to messages, often with regard to money and finance. You are likely to finally receive news that you’ve been waiting on, and this news is likely to be good. This Knight is a very practical card. The news in question is unlikely to be that you’ve won the lottery.

General: The Knight tells us to pay attention to the mundane and normal parts of our lives. A wise man once said,  “Take care of the little things, and the big things will all fall into place.” The Knight of  Pentacles asks you to look at how you are handling your affairs, and is a grounding influence.

Questions to Answer:

  1. Who is stable and reliably there for you?
  2. Who is committed to security and conventions?
  3. How is it going at work or on a project?
  4. What needs of your body or Mother Earth are you sensitive to?

Card 3, possibilities: Knight of Wands

Last seen June 22nd in the 1st position, June 16 & May 29th in the 2nd position.

Introduction: When the Knight of Wands appears, this is a great time for travel if you can manage to get away. You should be feeling charged up, full of energy, and ready to get things done. Your self-confidence is likely to be increasing and this should help you toward your goals. It is the card of sudden solutions arriving in a flurry of inspiration.

On a quest for spirit.

Questions to Answer:

  1. How are you growing and developing? How are you taking risks?
  2. Who is radiating creative or sexual energy in your life?
  3. Who enthusiastically wants to get going on something?

General: Knights are often message bearers, and in the Wands suit, the messages are likely to be positive and related to work or career. Your projects are likely to be/have been more successful than you would have expected or predicted. You have a lot of reasons to feel pride. Savor it.

In the third position: Think well on this card for it is coming to you in one form or another.  This is the extra manpower, the added energy, the new resources, the movement that you have needed.  This increases your spiritual knowledge and your ability to retrieve and use it.

Keywords: The quest and search for power and energy, the holy flame, though not necessarily with the maturity to use it responsibly. The goal is to transform the holy flame into something constructive rather than destructive. Dark, mysterious, solitary, dramatic, shamanistic, passionate and intense.

Knight of Wands says the dynamic mastery of unlimited creative expression totally inspired from within – freed to powerfully express itself.  You are capable of doing anything – never limit yourself.  Be versatile and adaptable – strive for greater mastery over your mind, heart and body.

Expect someone to present thoughts or ideas which will be advantageous to you – inspiring your creativity and taking you in new directions.  This is the start or finish of an important situation which may require a possible change of residence.  You will feel compelled to make sudden decisions related to the important aspects of your living and working conditions – to move in new directions, to create a new beginning or venture into new fields.  Thoughts are now stirring.  You have the power to influence and transform, to heal – liberate your spirit.  As a channel for the great spirit, you become enlightened and an enlightener – transcend your personal ego.

Eagerness, action, movement, adventure and travel need a grounding influence.  Allied with a sense of purpose and aided by the influence of planning – you can provide the energy and self – confidence necessary for great achievements.  Focus your mind now – concentrate, pay attention to the details if you wish to manifest your desires.  The trials and difficulties will demand vigorous attention – conflict can arise if your plans are not made carefully.  Your mind is positive and alert now, use it constructively.

The Wildwood Tarot, playing with my new deck

7.1.2016 reading.jpg
Bow layout

The Significator: Six of Stones • Exploitation

Represents both the person asking the question and the issue itself. What is the issue about?

Selfish or foolish overuse of non-sustainable resources implies imbalance in work of business that is damaging to yourself or the environment. Mmmm…. k’. 6 of Pentacles, the card that this would be in a regular tarot deck, is actually pretty positive, though I’d agree with the book whole heartedly on the unsustainability of the human population.

The Bow: Five of Stones • Endurance

Represents the point at which the skills of the enquirer can be focused to connect with the heart of the situation. What is your focus on the issue?

Aha! Stones / Pentacles are associated with earth and earning, being “of the world”. Perhaps I need to make my money in capacities that align really well with my personal ethics.

The Conscious Limb: 12 The Mirror

Represents the individual consciousness or analytical process at work. What do you think about the situation?

Patience & prudence are the keywords here.

The Spiritual Limb: Ten of Vessels • Happiness

Represents the emotional or spiritual elements present in the reading. What do you feel about the situation?

Generous fulfillment of desires from a source that is pure and cleansing. Reward for patience and love given selflessly True emotional stability and freedom.

The String: Nine of Vessels • Generosity

Represents the energy or momentum of the situation. What drives the issue?

Nature’s open-hearted, spiritual cauldron has a welcome for those who approach the waters of knowledge with compassion. They are blessed by regeneration.

Introduction: The 9 of Cups is one of the most uplifting and pleasant cards to receive in a reading. Known often as the “wish card” it can mean that what you are hoping for or dreaming about most is very likely to be yours – in a brief period of time, generally, too.

General: The appearance of this card is usually a portent of happiness, and good things about to come. It also usually means that what you want is likely to come into being in your life. If asking a yes/no type of question, this card is the most powerful indicator of “yes”, but like everything else in the tarot, that is not carved in stone.

The Fletchings: Eight of Vessels • Rebirth

Represents the point of balance, enabling the energy of the reader to interact with the energy of the reading. What guides the solution?

By looking at the past, acknowledging our mistakes and learning from them, we grow and attain new wisdom. The future waits to be unfolded by our positive action as we become the 8th vessel and receive powerful rejuvenating energies of rebirth. Rejoice! A time of renewal and potential is here. It is time to shed the skin of the past. Amen to that.

The Arrowhead: Seven of Vessels • Mourning

Represents the personal intent of the reader which, aimed at the problem, becomes a powerful means by which they can come to terms with the issue at hand. What is the outcome?

This is a time to honor what is dead and mourn for what has gone. Learn the lesson of letting go by offering thanks for cherished memories and being at peace with the past. I know what’s gone all right, lol.  This would be the 7 of Cups. Spirituality: Visualize your most important goals and desires being met. Use positive affirmations and/or treasure mapping to help make your dreams come true. Keep a positive attitude. If you need help doing so, reach out for it. There are plenty of positive influences available to you, you just need to know where to look.

Vessels

Element: water. Associations: emotions, relationships, romance, compassion, forgiveness, instinct, joy, faith, mourning, being of the heart.

Sunshine / #celticcross #tarot, full of pentacles & major arcana

Looks like I’m going to get ample opportunities to work on my tanning this week.

IMG_7220.PNG

I’ve gotten a bit bored with the cards lately… Doing daily readings  is good to start to get the meanings of some of the cards, particularly when they are prone to repeating themselves. Repetition makes perfect sense when you consider the fact that energetic trends don’t dissipate entirely & start completely anew on a 24-hour schedule. However all the optimism concerning career has yet to manifest. Bored!

Maybe I’ll change things up next time & do a different spread, like the Celtic Cross. That’s a really traditional one that uses 10 cards.

celtic-cross11

OK fuck it, I did did a Celtic Cross now out of curiosity, and it’s so good I’ve gotta take some notes. (Ya I’m just gonna zone out on cards & imagery this morning, but there are worse things to do.)

  1. Central Issue: Knight of Disks I’m not surprised this came up as the central life issue card, b/c it’s been a fairly frequent guest lately. In the first position: All knights serve a higher master in this world, independent of their spiritual learnings.  As such your purpose will be seen in the context of an older person’s or group’s purpose.
  2. What Crosses You: Queen of Disks This is one of my MOST frequent cards, not surprising either. [The Tarot suit of Pentacles at first glance clearly seems to be about money. Looking deeper, however, although money is part of what the Pentacles represent, in truth it is about prosperity, which goes far beyond money and one’s bank balance. The Pentacles are associated with the element of earth, and astrologically with the signs of Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn.]In the second position: A family member or someone you can fall back on.  It can also suggest that you have very basic, healthy processes and instincts that serve you well.  You are in harmony with your surroundings and should have many a safe harbor if you need it.
  3. What Lies Below: IX The Hermit In the third position: The arrival of a guide or teacher.  Be prepared to meet yourself – for this can be one of your past lives.  In effect, you coming to guide yourself with this matter at hand.  Whatever the personification of the source of this message, this brings you closer to the belief system that is specifically correct to carry you forward on your path.  This is the dialect of the philosophical language of truth which will best suit you.
  4. What Lies Behind (past): XX Judgment In the fourth position: Your early emotional imprint on which you build even today is virtually utopian, but the realizable utopia of universal love (brought to the West by the Christ) and understanding (brought to the East by the Buddha). ??? Mmmm… I dunno about this one, but it’s in a past position anyways so…
  5. What Lies Above (possibilities):  3 of Disks  In the fifth position: You are planning now for growth in your Physical/material Plane – health, business, et al.  Perhaps taking a much more personal interest in your business or personal affairs – how to imporve the quality/quantity. Yup
  6. What Lies Before (future): 8 of Disks In the sixth position: With your involvement with your projects and your success, you must work even harder at how you interface with your loved ones and coworkers.  For as much as they share your dreams and back you – they cannot know all that you know and feel all that you feel.
  7. Yourself: XVI Temperance In the eighth position: You are having to temper your actions, saying and doing less (or more as the case may demand if you have been too passive).  Reconciliation may be underway.  Redistribution of material resources with high emotional content.
  8. Your Environment: 6 of Wands In the ninth position: Perhaps your heart has plans of which you are not yet aware.  It may wish for closer ties, much more interaction, with many more people than your extended self now embraces. Yes, yes!!! More interactions!!! Buddies!!!
  9. Hopes & Fears: 9 of Disks In the ninth position: You are energized by your fortunate circumstances and wish only to share you experiences and your pleasure with others. I AM an over sharer. I remember the days, though, when I was first blogging & filming yoga & people seemed to think it was gauche. Look at them now!
  10. Outcome: X The Wheel of Fortune In the tenth position: One overhears as the gods speak to the gods.  There is an ineffable presence. WTF is that interpretation? I think it should be more clear & favorable. The Wheel of Fortune lets you see that emotionally – your strongest feelings are where you will find your talents.  Spiritually – to seek your fortune is to grow.  Mentally you must “risk” misfortune to grow and physically you are rewarded as your talents manifest themselves.  Look for new opportunities – change is exactly what you need.  Examine new ideas carefully before you discard them.  Exercise your strength and prepare to adapt to new and different circumstances.  Treat everything as an opportunity.  Do it with an optimistic mind, fearless heart and sense of service to the planet and this good karma brings success and rewards to all levels of life.  Innovative ideas will result from your past experiences – decisions will be made, luck prevails and destiny will work itself out positively, for you are growing toward wholeness and harmony.  First you get an idea, then you get fired up about doing it – you choose a suitable means to achieve it, you are required to go through the “blood, sweat and tears” of the process and finally – you see the results.  Maintain a steady pace – things are not always as they “seem” on the surface.  Keep planting the seeds you wish to reap – they will develop in time.  As your inner, mental images exteriorize – new situations and experiences must fit your existing “belief” structure.  New ideas cause change and you can change or alter your experiences by changing and altering your beliefs.  To prevent a “limiting” belief from creating reality – you must first become aware of it, so that you can change it according to the reality you want.  To change a physical effect – you must change your original belief and as your beliefs change so will your experiences.

King of Disks, Queen of Wands, XI Strength #tarot

Well… Since global events have atypically garnered my attention this morning, and I have time to read up on them since there is no retail hell today & Charlie is working a long shift. I’m going to work too… I’m making a new infographic for my sample roster and I’ve gotta apply some watercolor washes to the two latest goddess illustrations, but yes, I’ve got time. You’ve gotta take advantage of the boons that circumstance offers because Gods know there are plenty of hardships.

The below is nearly the same reading as two days ago! Instead of the Knight of Disks in position 1 we’ve got the King. The Queen of Wands is holding steady at #2, and we’ve got another of the major arcana in position 3.

FullSizeRender 3.jpg

Card 1, within: King of Disks

Last seen June 13th in the same position.

King of Pentacles indicates the mastery of prosperity, harvest, determination and abundance – a solid position.  The desire to create and protect that which is financially necessary.  A generous soul who is friendly, affectionate, solid, steady and can be of great help.  A gifted person who has not been overcome by their position in life.

Keywords: Master of life, living, physical existence, joviality, temptation (and not resisting), laughter, pranks, living the the moment, earthiness, virility, lust, animal nature, risk taking. Eat the forbidden fruit with relish.

  1. How are you using your ability to manage your material affairs?
  2. Who is trustworthy yet stubborn?
  3. How are you being practical and down-to-earth or who do you know that is?

Card 2, without: Queen of Wands

Last seen in the 2nd position June 22nd & 1st position, May 22nd.

Creates an environment of spirit (growth, change).

Introduction: The Queen of Wands is one of the most fertile (metaphorically and literally) and feminine/womanly energies in the Tarot deck. In a reading, like all court cards, she can often signify a literal person in our lives, most often female, and most often with hair tending toward the lighter shades in the spectrum. The Queen brings good energy, and is a positive sign to receive.

General: The Queen of Wands can also refer to a woman who has a lot of fire energy about her e.g. Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. When not referring to a literal person, she stands for getting a lot accomplished, and often, a focus on work/career. The Queen is positive, uplifting energy. When she stands in for a woman in your life, she’s a good friend, who is solidly on your side, even though she may seem a bit self-absorbed. If you are trying to conceive and this card appears, it’s one of the most positive signs that there can be.

Keywords: Shaman, witch, powerful shapeshifter. An environment where growth and creativity and the gifts of the true self are cultured, cherished, upheld and encouraged.

Queen of Wands shares self discovery, sensitivity and spirit – awakening to the deepest essence of who you are as your love of home and the appreciation of nature is translated into feeling and understanding.  Your attractive personality draws people to you because you just naturally love life and people.  You see no purpose or value in deceit, control or dominance.  Your attitude is sensible and you are most helpful when providing good advice.  People do not fear asking you for assistance because they KNOW they will be helped if it is at all possible.

Question to Answer:

  1. How are you expressing your creative energies?

Card 3, advice: XI Strength

Questions to Answer:

  1. How strong is your love?
  2. How are you being called upon to show courage and perseverance?
  3. What do you desire to create?
  4. What inner passion needs to be expressed?
  5. What inner passion needs to be reconciled?
  6. What is the “natural” or instinctive thing to do?

Introduction: Strength indicates the importance of mind over matter, and reminds you to focus on what you do want rather than what you don’t want in your life. Its main point is that you have the ability to harness your thoughts and to use them for your – and everyone else’s – highest good. Not only do you have the ability; you have the responsibility. So conquer your fears, control your impulses, and never lose patience with yourself or what you are doing.

General: It’s important now for you to make time to meditate and contemplate and spend some time alone even if you are in a committed relationship and have nineteen children! Do not allow yourself to spend time in preoccupation and fear. Outward things will be going all right but what is of the most paramount importance is keeping your head on straight.

Knight of Disks, Queen of Wands, IV The Emperor

OK I’ll give the readings a rest for a few days because this is a good one. I want to put these messages to work, after today, which will be about psychological endurance, profound boredom and sore feet. If you’re a manger you can go sit in the back & be on your phone when it’s slow. If you’re an associate, you get abuse for merely getting “caught” looking out of the window & smiling at a tree.

I do this… If I have a moment, I gaze. Green is a relaxing and healing color. Studies have shown that patients in hospitals tend to improve more quickly even if there’s just a picture with green in it hanging on the wall, if they can’t see trees out of a window. All this punching of time clocks (gotta make sure the corporation doesn’t lose a DIME on its lowest paid workers!) and inability to access social media, never mind have fun conversations with coworkers without being scolded… I’m so unused to this. It’s crazy.

If people were paid living wages, there wouldn’t be a need for a daily bag check before you walk out the door. Think about it. This is something that doesn’t happen in a professional environment.

Questions to Answer:

  1. Who is stable and reliably there for you? Charlie of course.
  2. Who is committed to security and conventions?
  3. How is it going at work or on a project? I’m looking forward to getting back to my illustration work tomorrow. Also I started a new infographic yesterday.
  4. What needs of your body or Mother Earth are you sensitive to?

Card 2, without: Queen of Wands

Last seen in the 1st position, May 22nd.

Creates an environment of spirit (growth, change).

  1. How are you expressing your creative energies?

Card 3, advice: IV The Emperor

The Emperor – To BE something, to KNOW something and to BE CAPABLE OF something is what endows a person with authority.  Retain your inner balance now and from the exhaustless riches of the Limitless Substance – you can draw all things needful, both spiritual and material.  Spiritually – aspire your highest goals, mentally – build according to a logical and practical set of plans, physically – act upon your goals and plans, emotionally use your anger to motivate you and you will achieve your visions.

This is the card that asserts authority, organizes systems to retain maximum control and is the paternal influence of the Tarot deck, assuring that protection and security are provided to all those playing by the rules.

Reason is the function of your conscious mind – handle your affairs in a systematic manner and you will know concrete results.  You will experience the wisdom and authority necessary to produce stability, solidity, organization and foundation.  If you wish for Spirit to manifest itself, it is necessary for you to create a space of “emptiness” for Spirit to use to assist you in focusing on the truth and to achieve this, you must be willing to put aside your personal opinions.  If you wish to receive a revelation of truth – you must put aside your personal development and allow yourself to be guided by the Master.

God governs the world by authority – not by force.  The Emperor owes his authority not to his power “over” human beings – but because he represents them before God.  He has authority because he is human and represents all that is human and the more truly human you become – the more you manifest the “image and likeness of God”.

Introduction: The Emperor shows us that domination of the mind over the heart is sometimes not wanted, but in some cases is it necessary and even welcomed, and that this is part of what we must think about when he appears. When hard choices must be made it’s important to maintain your concentration and focus, and this is something this time period will make it easy for you to do. Enjoy the assertiveness and confidence it that this self-control and focus brings. Forge ahead and do what you know is best. If you can master yourself then you should have little problem mastering the world and all the things in it.

The future position is an uncomfortable position for The Emperor. The days and weeks ahead are vague and quite affected by the smallest decisions of the here and now. The Emperor card demands to assert itself. When The Emperor card is here, anticipate a change to come into your life in a bold manner; expectations to conform in the way you carry yourself may be part of this picture. Regardless of the situation, understand that new demands to follow a specific behavioral prescription will be coming your way and coming in the near future. Prepare now to submit, evade or resist. Well I already know it’s “wrong” of me to put a hand in my pocket when standing, take my clogs off behind the counter to air out my feet, that even if the dresses ARE in the right order I’m prone to not even being able to SEE an offensive messiness recognized by someone up just one rung up the ladder. (The retail ladder is more of a step stool than anything else, lol.)
